Instructor Training
Fly Blackpool are pleased to offer Flight Instructor Training with flybpl.com at Blackpool Airport.
The flying school is situated on the airfield, opposite the Offshore Helicopter Terminal. We are fully approved by the CAA and have the latest training aids required for your training.
The company has a fleet of 10 aircraft and 2 Helicopters. We can offer a full range of training including PPL, Night Ratings, IMC, Multi Ratings, and FI Ratings.

The Instructor of the Flight Instructor Course is Peter Bradbury, who is a Flight Instructor Examiner appointed by the UK CAA, He also is a Commercial Pilot Examiner and an Instrument Rating Examiner holding a UK ATPL. Peter has a wealth of experience in the Aviation Industry and has an above average first time pass rate.
Blackpool Airport is located on the Fylde coast and is within easy access of the M55 and M6. It has three runways of which one has an ILS and two are fully equipped for night flying. Fuel, hangarage and restaurant facilities are all available on the airfield. We can arrange accommodation if required, which is within easy reach of the airfield.
For Your FI Courses we will be happy to deal with any queries you may have. If you would like to book one of our courses we will require a 10% deposit with the remaining balance being due on the first day of your course. Prices are available, on request but as a guide see below.
The course is 30 hours Flight, and 125 hours Ground School. The appropriate costs are:
- Aircraft Charge: £150.00 per hour
- Instructor Charge (Ground): £15.00 per hour
- Instructor Charge (Flight): £50.00 per hour
Additional costs that you should allow for are:
- One Hour Flight Test: £150.00
- Flight Test Fee Payable to the Examiner: £250.00
- Landings, Approaches, Go Arounds Recharged at Cost: £10.00 each
VAT is added to the totals above.
Pre Entry requirements:
- All CPL/ATPL Exams Passed
- 200 hrs Total Time
- 100 hrs P1 (or 150 TP1 if Holding a PPL)
- The CPL Modular Course & Test (If you want to be Paid as a Flight Instructor)

Flybpl.com is able to offer the end of course test to be conducted here at Blackpool, so no position costs need budgeting for.
